"Microsoft and the state of New York said at the time that we would drive [spammer Scott Richter] into bankruptcy, and together we have," said Aaron Kornblum, Microsoft's Internet safety enforcement attorney, noting that Richter was once ranked the world's third-largest spammer on the Register of Known Spam Operations.

There was discussion of this on the SPAM-L list. He declared bankruptcy, but his "hosting company" is still alive and well. It's likely that he'll eventually move his operation to China where so many others have.
