A not-really-idle Thunderbird question

Short and simple:  Does anyone know of a way to make Mozilla Thunderbird sort mail in the inbox by date received, rather than by date sent?  I've been looking for one, but have been unable to find such a thing.

I'm more than half tempted to go look and see if I can write an extension to do it -- SortOnAnyField or something like that.

View -> Sort By -> Order Received

I think Thunderbird didn't used to have this feature. I had wanted it, and I was startled to find this option.
