For all you folks following the saga, I've now got an apartment (well... for values of now starting in around two hours), the furnishing of which is currently being plotted.  I was originally looking at renting furniture for the first few months, but the rental places want waaaay too much money.  This, however, is where it must be noted that bitminers rock, as I'm currently being deluged with offers of assorted free furniture from [livejournal.com profile] midiamin, [livejournal.com profile] thoanthbel, [livejournal.com profile] echristo, and others.  Suddenly a full-fledged plan has emerged, ex nihilo, which entails much running around the valley in a U-Haul truck tomorrow, with dump runs and furniture haulage and multiple 'miners.

It's really weird to be back living somewhere you have friends local when you've gotten used to not having anyone locally you can rely on except yourself.  (Note:  This latter clause should not be taken to apply to [livejournal.com profile] captoblivion, who has been of invaluable assistance in rack haulage despite not being local, and despite being grabbed in tender places by Wen the Eternally Surprised.  You know your friends are true friends when they get their nuts used as a climbing handhold by a 2-year-old and still come back.)

I'll know a bit better by the end of tomorrow what I still need to hunt down, but it sounds like I'm going to be fairly well set.  Verily I say unto ye, bitminers rock.

If you need a couch, it might take a bit of mining, but I still have the one that once graced the living room. But I'd have to excavate it out of the screen room, which wouldn't be immediate. And since I have a pickup, it could get delivered sometime later.

I've already been offered a futon couch, so I think I'm covered there. But thanks for the offer.

Well, now that I have the SHINY JANGLY GOODNESS of ACCESS GRASPED in my SWEATY LITTLE.... um ... that is, have the keys in my physical possession, I can reveal that my address will be 655 S. Fair Oaks Avenue # E-312, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. There is a great furniture-accumulation expedition planned for tomorrow (Friday). No net arranged yet.

(This is, by the way, the same complex as Sandy and Martin, but I'm on te other side of the complex, facing Fair Oaks.)

I know where that is. It's right on the 55 bus line to De Anza College and a decent walking distance from the (old) Sunnyvale Town Center and the Sunnyvale Caltrain station.

Good thing I remembered you had given out your new address. It would have been bad to ship your box of goods to the office again. I'm not invited am I?

Um, you say that as though you think you'd need an invitation.

Whether you'd be able to get here for it is the question....
