...or are a lot of LJ's mood icons REALLY poorly matched to the mood they're supposed to be representing?  I keep selecting a mood for a post and then finding that, for any but the most obvious moods, the icon seems to have little to do with the mood.  I mean, "thoughtful" for example should not (IMHO) yield a shit-eating grin, and a dictionary search on "pensive" returns "Deeply, often wistfully or dreamily thoughtful" as the first result, not "Woe is me, the world is ending."

Lazy icon creators re-use an existing icon for a whole buncha moods, even some that don't make sense (so that there are no icon-less moods).

It's clearly time for you to create your own.

I have seen exactly one mood-icon set that had an individual icon for each available mood in the drop-down list - and the creator pulled it within a month of making it available. *sigh*

The Penguins are decently matched... more or less. It's really tough to find a good set, though.
