Well, I wanted to reheat my leftovers from supper last night for lunch. And, since I didn't want to dry them out in the process, I left the cling-wrap in place. It stayed sealed around the plate, and ballooned several inches.... then, over the twenty seconds or so after I took the plate out of the microwave, the steam condensed and the film contracted to form a nice, snug vacuum-seal over my lunch.

I guess I'd have to say it was a good thing, because it didn't dry out at all. :)

You were lucky; timing is pretty finicky there. Molten cling-wrap is not exactly my choice condiment.

Yup.... if I wanted to eat plastic, I'd go buy something from McDonalds.
