Granted, the one concrete example cited in that article is pretty ridiculous. But is it any more ridiculous than many of the shenanigans that go on over here? (I cite the tenure system and the rule that civil service employees above a certain level cannot be laid off as but two examples of employment-related institutional stupidity in the US.)
