I nearly cried when the LHC lost its liquid helium and some of it was thereby destroyed the first time they tried to start it up. It's great to see that it's online and working just fine! (Problem: How do we get the brains of the doomsayers who've been screaming that the LHC will destroy us all to work better? Unfortunately, letting out all the liquid helium in them won't shut them up, because they don't have any liquid helium in them. I think somebody at Microsoft did the original programming of their brains -- the same people responsible for Windows 95 . . .)
