My statement is simple:  When things become complex, it is easy to hide malfeasance and incompetence.  When opacity is tolerated, parasites can grow unchecked and eventually kill the host.  This is true of government; it is true of business; it is true of law; it is true of medicine.  Clarity is not just an elegant goal; it is essential to a just society.
