Special subject: the bleedin' obvious

Swapping out the (at a guess) around 30dBA 120mm case fan in an Antec rackmount case for a comparable-airflow 16dBA 120mm fan makes the machine a WHOLE LOT quieter.  I think the loudest noise is the power supply fan now.

(And I have a 21dBA fan I can swap in for that, too.)

Both of my monitors are dying by degrees. We have a spare for one, but it's little if any better, and may be worse.

I've got 21" with minor screen burn and a fubar case in the garage, a reasonably good 19" sitting in an otherwise almost empty server rack. Using a 24" LG widescreen LCD I got at Fry's for a good price last year.

BTW, the new Ayreon (01011001) is fantastic. Reminds me a lot of Electric Castle in a way that most of his other releases since haven't.
