I would just like to go on the record as stating that a mouse is a fucking horrible flight controller.

Nevertheless, after flying from LAX to SFO VFR in the F-16, after crashing on my first attempt while fighting the mouse, and landing rather long on my second attempt (came in a little hot), I managed to make a close-to-perfect landing on 10-R on my third attempt.

I need to get myself a decent joystick and throttle controller again.  (Several years ago, I scrapped the analog gameport Thrustmaster FCS/WCS that I used to have, because it seemed nothing I tried to use it with supported it any more.  US Navy Fighters would sort of work with it for about 15 minutes, after which the gradually-increasing trim drift became unmanagable.)

Yeah, if I start doing flight-sims seriously again (which would require rebuilding my desktop to have room for the throttle controller), I'll most likely consider a set of rudder pedals too. But first I'll want to find a stick-and-throttle set that has decent ergonomics and actually feels like it's connected to something. (I've been favorably impressed by some of the Saitek gear I've looked at.)
