Well, the rifle itself (lower and upper receivers) are going to be black. I guess I could Duracoat them but that's kind of a pain in the ass... and it's unfortunate, but FDE does kind of look like baby poo.

If you're going to do it at all, I'd do it all the way. The hybrid — especially with that stainless barrel — really looks as though it's been done purely for cosmetic effect. Especially with the striped Picatinny rails on the forend. The other at least looks like the owner realizes that if you're going to camouflage something, you need to camouflage the whole thing.

(HOW many sighting systems does he have on that thing...? I think I see three — a Bushnell holosight, a laser, and iron sights....)

I count three. A holographic sight (it's actually an EOTech, which is pretty much the best out there for non-magnified sights), backup iron sights (a good idea) and some sort of crazy laser thing OMG WTF BBQ. Plus the SureFire lamp. With a filter of course!

Like I said, crazy tacticool.

I might roll with a black barrel though....

Sure, I wouldn't go without iron sights on any kind of rifle I expected to ever use at less than 200m.

Cerakoting an upper and lower is kinda expensive. But it's now on my list of things to do. Damn you. :P
