Christian Dior has totally lost it.  He's not quite the shilling, he's really out to sea, his kettle is boiling over, he thinks he's a banana tree.  His little red engine done broke down.

That's about as silly as such fashion shows usually are, imho.

I actually think about half of that stuff is pretty damned cool. :)

Some of the clothes might be OK on their own, if not for the freakshow makeup that makes most of the models look like they got beaten up by their manager last night.

The "real" clothes wouldn't appear in such a show.

Technically, Christian Dior is a "what," not a "he," sort of like Jethro Tull. (There was once a real Dior, but he's dead, and probably whirling in his grave.)

Looks like CD got his inspiration from George Lucas (http://www.thelogbook.com/toy/rotj1/empguard.jpg)...

I was thinking the Fashion Show scene from UHF, myself.

(Or was it Wizard Of Speed & Time? It's been too long...)

I've seen that one and there was NOT a fashion show.

I thought Anne Rice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Rice) vampire-goth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth) went out of style ages ago...

VtM meets Dune?

So many of the outfits are seriously Dune - mainly the movie, but also the newer miniseries.

However a few of them do also strike me as monsters from Doom3.

The clothing shown at the shows is from their couture line - they are pretty much one-offs and the wilder the better- more ink.

The ready to wear will be much more subdued with a hint of the theme - maybe reds and whites with handkerchief hems.... shrug.

I <3 the crazy-ass shit that comes down the runway.

Would I wear it? Even if I could afford it, prolly not.
