The World of Warcraft realm servers are down until 1300H for maintenance, and I was thinking, as long as I was waiting, I may as well run memtest86 on vorlon just to rule out memory-related causes for the frequent crashes and lockups. So here I am watching it run, and thinking, "Funny, memtest86 doesn't seem to be running any faster on an Athlon64 3000+ than it used to on whitestar's original Athlon 1200."
Then I remember that vorlon has four times as much memory....
(Incidentally, after multiple passes, memtest86 shows zero memory errors. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with this RAM. I'm still convinced the problem is the video card; Leadtek insists there can't possibly be a problem with their card. I need someone with large, aggressively-studded boots to go put one of them up Leadtek's ass.)
