hrrunka just got back from the hospital, where he went to visit Peter Murray again this afternoon. He didn't get to see Peter this time.
Peter Murray, aka Gingerbear, Agniputra and other avatars, died at about ten past three today, British Summer Time (UTC+1), 1410Z. His sister Helen and her partner were with him at his bedside when he died.
We have lost our Gingerbear, and we are diminished.
May 14: Microsoft wheels out the FUD, claiming open-source is infringing 235 Microsoft patents, but declines to specify which. (Sound familiar? *cough*cough*SCO*cough*))
May 15: Sun Microsystems responds.
So what's my view on this interview in Fortune - in which one of Sun's business partners claims the open source community is trampling their patent portfolio?
You would be wise to listen to the customers you're threatening to sue - they can leave you, especially if you give them motivation. Remember, they wouldn't be motivated unless your products were somehow missing the mark.
I have archived a copy of Peter's Callahans card decks here (and also, his partly-finished collectible-card-game version linked from it).
(Update: As hrrunka pointed out, there is no longer any personal-privacy issue involved. I have therefore followed his lead in editing the permissions on these posts to make them public.)
