My back is killing me.

I've been in some discomfort lately when sleeping (or trying to sleep), and in particular my back has not been happy with me lying on my side.  I don't know whether this is connected to the forced sleep deprivation schedule my doctor has me on right now trying to fix my sleep cycle, but I don know that since I started on it I've been waking up steadily more stiff and achy.  This morning I woke up feeling like some bastard had slipped a shiv under my left shoulderblade.  Just moving wrong is painful, and trying to pick up anything heavy (say, one of the kids) hurts like fuck.

This is no fun at all, and I don't know if the sleep-dep program is even working.  I'm still usually awake until at least 0400, even going to bed at midnight; the alarm goes off at 0700, and I'm usually awake about 15 to 30 minutes before it goes off.  This doesn't leave a lot of time for sleepng.

The Boston Daily News reports that the first large-scale test of a system designed to increase airport capacity by having computers navigate aircraft on departure has been aborted after four problems at DFW.  Two aircraft flew out with less than FAA-mandated minimum separation, a third missed a turn after takeoff, and two others turned for the wrong runway.
