I unfortunately listen to Hannity on occasion when waiting for news or traffic, since he's on our best traffic station.

Sean Hannity is a whackjob, but I think he's a central speaker for the core of the "conservative" (not even neo-con) branch of the Republican party. (Compared to the "libertarian" branch of the Republican party.) There have even been suggestions that he'd make a great candidate for president in another 12-16 years.

He's big on destroying "Evil" in the world, believes mental illness might be caused by demon possession, and is otherwise a complete idiot on-air.

He's also the second or third best rated talk show, and tons of people believe everything he says. He regularly has Bush officials and Republicans in high office on the show, and is a complete party shill. While he may drift into some other areas where the republicans have no party opinion (STDs at college), on any subject the repubs care about, he is in perfect lockstep.

And I've heard him, in the same show, talk about how poor 18 year old girls are being taken advantage of by this dirty old man, and how it's a shame their parents didn't teach them better. And then make a gratuitous slam about sex-ed in schools 15 minutes later (leading out from a story that was only vaguely related to sex-ed.) And the humanoid had no clue that these positions might be inconsistent.

And the fact so many people listen to him scares me f*ing s*tless.
