OK, folks, let's consider the meanings of a few common terms a moment.  (Well, one of them might not be common to non-US folks.)

Let's try:

  • milk
  • cream
  • half-and-half

Everyone OK so far?  (If you're not in the US, we'll give you that last one:  it's a mixture of half milk, half cream.)

OK, here's a couple more:

  • low-fat
  • non-fat

Still here?  OK, for extra credit, try this one:

  • non-fat half-and-half

.......Yeah.  Exactly.  Somebody needs a good smackin'.

Let me guess... loads and loads of carrageenan and polysorbate-80?

I didn't actually bother to look at the ingredient list. It's just the mental doublethink of "non-fat extra-fat blend". It's sorta like dehydrated water.

I saw that a while back, in of all places Whole Foods, and decided I didn't want to know. Modern milk sometimes bears very little relationship to a substance known to come from cows.

Fake Cream.

The US SO needs a decent truth-in-advertising statute. One with teeth, that's actually enforced.
