To cut a long story short, Ursula K. LeGuin explains how and why she's, as another author once put it, "the author of the book Earthsea isn't based on."

This unfortunately sounds way too much like Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea has been sacrificed on the altar of someone's political moralizing.  Joe Bob says, "Just Say No."

It wouldn't be the first time people freely adapted Le Guin, but this one sounds like a particularily egregious case, particularily in the light of the presumption of saying they are presenting her "true intent." It has a kind of fundamentalist ring, doesn't it? Signs of the times...
