Note when they're making the announcement .... mere hours before John Kerry's acceptance speech.

Coincidence?  What do you think?  We deserved to know about this when it happened, not have it held back for cheap political grandstanding to divert attention from the DNC.

Feh. They still don't have UBL. Until Dubya comes up with him, this whole thing will have been a sham. And if he comes up with him between the GOP convention and the election, I'm gonna call bullshit.

I have little doubt that either they'll magically come up with him just before the election, or we'll never get closer to him than when we let him escape at Tora Bora because Shrubya wouldn't commit the forces to seal him off.

{mode=open-minded} Actually, the article did not say when he was captured, only that it happened "at the weekend." Which weekend?

From our perspective the most important factor (which is not addressed at all) is not when he was captured, but when the Pakistani government informed the US government of the capture. If the US government delayed the public announcement, I doubt that it was by more than a day or two.
