I have a sizeable queue of projects that I want to get to work on.  Several rooms need repainting.  A bunch of baseboards need replacing.  All the deck rails need refinishing, and preferably the decks too, especially if I can find a finish for them that'll last longer than a single season.  (I've pondered making rail caps out of the relatively-new composite decking material to get around that problem.)  I have various rewiring to do, and several light fittings that need replacing, and a reloading bench to rebuild, and a desk to rebuild, and two of the three fireplace dampers need repair (and I'd like to put a Welenco or similar insert in the downstairs fireplace if I could find one).  I want to put a drip deflector course under the galley deck to keep rain and snowmelt from dripping through the deck into the carport, if I can find a source of actual fiberglass corrugated roofing, not the vinyl crap that's all Lowes and Home Despot carry, and I want to construct a more permanent weather shelter for firewood under the main-deck stairs (having done proof-of-principle last winter by stapling up heavy plastic sheeting); probably more corrugated fiberglass again.  The shed needs to be torn down and rebuilt, with a proper foundation and floor, and the steps down from the carport need more work, and another intermediate step from the back deck to the carport wouldn't hurt either.  And then there's the downstairs sliders to the lower deck that are coming apart, and the other four that are basically sound (well, except for the screen doors that come off their tracks if you think about looking at them funny) but really need replacing with something of decent quality, and the roof that needs to be rebuilt with decent insulation (R60 or better, vs. the current maybe-R10).  And we want to tear up the carper in a bunch of rooms, put down a proper subfloor, and install bamboo flooring.  And at some point, we need to tear up and relay the driveway, which is cracked, buckled, uneven, improperly drained, and subsiding in spots, and straighten the front path and put in actual steps instead of the brick-faced steep ramp that's impassable in winter because it's too slippery to walk on.

All these projects to do.  And I can't make a start on any of them, because we have no money to spare for the necessary materials for the ones I can do myself, let alone afford the ones that will require contractors — the driveway and the roof, at least.  (And I'm supposed to be staying as completely as possible off my feet at the moment anyway, until the current fissure in my left foot heals.)

I am BORED OUT OF MY SKULL.  And this is not good for my mental state.
